Background of the Study

Mobile commerce (m-commerce) refers to the buying and selling of goods and services through mobile devices, leveraging technologies such as mobile apps, mobile websites, and mobile wallets. As smartphones and mobile internet access have become increasingly prevalent, m-commerce has emerged as a key driver of revenue growth in the e-commerce sector (Adebayo & Olawale, 2023).

In Katsina State, e-commerce firms have started adopting mobile platforms to reach a larger customer base, streamline transactions, and enhance customer engagement. However, the actual impact of m-commerce adoption on business revenue remains uncertain, with factors such as mobile infrastructure, customer trust, and digital payment systems playing crucial roles. This study explores the correlation between mobile commerce adoption and revenue generation in e-commerce businesses in Katsina State.

Statement of the Problem

While mobile commerce offers great potential for increasing business revenue, many e-commerce firms in Katsina State face challenges such as limited internet connectivity, security concerns, and customer hesitancy towards mobile payment systems. These factors may undermine the positive effects of m-commerce adoption on business revenue.
